Why should I choose unboxED?
unboxED is unique in different ways:
-
unboxED is the only solution that brings literacy and STEM learning together in a subscription box model.
-
The continuity between the literacy and STEM boxes ensures deeper learning and understanding in children.
-
unboxED challenges children to use their imagination, creativity, critical thinking ability, and does not give students only 'Do It Yourself' toys.
-
unboxED is based on research-based solutions to enhance student learning along with engagement.
-
unboxED comes from a group of educationists with a combined experience of over 20 years.
What will be provided in each box in the unboxED: Full Year?
Each box will either have a focus on building literacy skills or STEM skills. In the literacy box, the students will get one story book, and at least 6-8 activities including games, puzzles, worksheets, tasks, etc. The STEM box will have a series of 3-4 activities which lead to making a final product like a kaleidoscope, or other complex machines. The box will provide students a detailed manual along with worksheets which will help them learn by doing.
Can the children engage with activities in the box independently or not?
Each box is age appropriate and has clear instructions so that children are engaged. However, we feel that the best learning experience for the child is in presence of an adult who is there as a sounding board and support. There are some activities like cutting, sticking, etc. in the STEM box that will require adult supervision.
What if I want to cancel my subscription?
We would strongly urge you not to cancel the subscription till about 4-6 months. This is because:
-
It takes some time for children to get used to the independent learning activities.
-
It takes at least a couple of months for students to start showing the effects of their learning.
-
The students will be exposed to a new topic every two months.
In spite of these, if you would like to cancel the subscription, please write to info@things-education.com.
When will the first box be shipped? What date will each box be shipped each month?
Your box will be shipped within 48 hours of your order. The first box should reach you in maximum 5-7 working days across India. Shipping outside India will take longer depending on the country.

What is Teacher Professional Development? And why is it necessary?
Teacher Professional Development (TPD) is not unique to Things Education. This is in fact a world-wide phenomenon, where teachers, individually, seek out professional development opportunities. In India, TPD is more institutionalised - it happens if the organisation wants teachers upgrade certain skills. In fact India's National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020 specifically mentions TPD as one of its fundamental principles "...to guide the education system".

In simple terms, TPD is a continuous process of learning new skills and knowledge needed to deliver the highest quality of education to our students. TPD skills include lesson planning, classroom management and leveraging students’ internal motivation to learn, while TPD knowledge includes conceptual knowledge in literacy, numeracy, science and social science.
What is unique about Teacher Professional Development from Things Education?
The latest research is mostly not available to practicing teachers due to time or other constraints. The TPD from Things Education helps bridge the gap between latest research and the classroom. We do this by sharing tips on how to incorporate the latest methods, tools and techniques to existing lesson plans.
Our team of experts is equipped with experience of more than 10-12 years. We have specifically used the latest tools and techniques in pedagogy in their classrooms with success.
